The Top 5
AwesomeJake408 is having a breakout year. Once thought to be the weak link on a stumbling Olympus Bolts roster, Jake has been inarguably the best support through three weeks of play in SX. He leads all SPL supports in kills with 12, three kills better than his closest competition, but he does so without costing his team as he also leads all of the SPL with 143 assists, 17 more than Genetics in second place.
On a per-minute basis, Jake (1337 mtg/min) is second in damage mitigated to only Inbowned (1383) while dying a staggering 27 times fewer. The only other supports with fewer than 30 deaths, Genetics (1150) and Quig (1018) have each failed to surpass 1200 mtg/min and rank 6th and 8th among supports respectively. Jake is inexplicably absorbing his opponents’ damage without dying. Also on a per-minute basis, Genetics is the only support to die more infrequently—0.53 deaths/min to Jake’s 0.64.
Jake is the only SPL support to boast a gold-per-minute above 500—partly a reflection of his team’s success, but still 20 gpm higher than Genetics. His GPM is higher than 10 non-supports, including Vote, Dardez, and fineokay. His counting stats would likely be even more impressive, but his Warriors team has the fewest minutes per game in the league with 30, nearly two whole minutes faster than the Gladiators, the next quickest team.
But if the stats don’t convince you, see for yourself.
Jake is just different this year, and he’s a huge part of why the Oni Warriors have yet to lose a set.
Jarcorrr leads all of the SPL with a KDA of 6.64, a full point higher than his closest rival and teammate BigManTingz. He has 54 kills—12 more than the next closest hunter—while boasting the fewest deaths (14) in the SPL. He’s going to kill you and he’s going to get away with it.
On a per-minute basis, Jarcorrr’s player damage is dead last among carries, but his high kills and low deaths suggest that he simply picks his spots better. His kills per minute is 0.125, one spot below Adapting for the SPL lead, making Jarcorrr the only non-jungler inside the top 5 for KPM. Jarcorrr is also third in the SPL in GPM at 570—not just the only carry in the top 5, but the only carry in the top 10. He also leads the SPL in structure damage per game with 9,314.
Jarcorrr also stands out in the assist department, posting 0.180 assists per minute, first among SPL carries and good for 11th in the league. This is partly due to Jarcorrr’s god-pool and playstyle, opting for picks like Rama and Chernobog who can get involved from across the map.
Often lauded as the best jungler in the world, Panitom has backed up the praise this season. He is second in the SPL in kills and 4th in kills per minute. He also leads all junglers with a 4.42 KDA. Panitom’s 563 GPM is also tops among junglers and 5th in all of SMITE. Panitom’s 25 deaths is also the fewest of any jungler, and his player damage per minute (512) ranks third in his role—he’ll be punished in the latter category by his team’s quick pace, resulting in fewer minutes spent six-slotted.
Where Panitom shines, however, is in assists, suggesting that he is a huge reason for his team’s league-leading pace. Panitom’s assists per minute of 0.239 is first among all junglers, and he is the only non-support to place in the top 5 in both total assists and APM, ranking 3rd in both categories. He is also one of only three players to eclipse 100 assists through the first three weeks. Panitom gets in there.
BigManTingz trails Jarcorrr by just a single death—almost a rounding error at this point. He leads the league in player damage per minute with 835, one of only two players to surpass 800 (Dardez, 815). His gold per minute of 595 is the highest in all of SMITE, surpassing second place by a full 14 GPM (Pegon, 581). Tingz also posts the highest KPM among mid laners with 0.102, good for 6th overall, and boasts the second best KDA in the SPL with 5.50. Tingz farms safely and effectively, deals massive amounts of damage, and always seems to survive. Thus far, he has been far and away the best mid laner in the league.
The theme among great backliners is how infrequently they die. Netrioid’s 16 deaths is tied with Stuart for third fewest, though he’s played two more games. Netrioid’s 8,538 structure damage per game is 2nd overall, which (obviously) reflects that his team is winning games. Netrioid’s 4.94 KDA is also 3rd in all of SMITE, though he trails Jarcorrr in his own role. Like Jarcorrr, Netrioid’s player damage per-minute lags behind at 6th among carries, but that merely reflects that staying alive for a carry is vastly more important than doing damage. Netrioid has been one of the best at staying alive, getting kills, and helping his team push objectives.
The next 5:
6. SoloOrTroll (42/33/84, 2.55 KDA, 1st among solo laners in damage per minute).
7. Haddix (27/18/76, 3.61 KDA, fewest deaths per minute for a solo laner).
8. Genetics (5/23/126, 2.93 KDA, fewest deaths per minute among supports) .
9. Pegon (46/31/78, 2.74 KDA, second best GPM in the league).
10. Stuart (32/16/41, 3.28 KDA, 5th fewest deaths per minute, the only player from a losing team in the top 5).
